J. Mark Martin is senior pastor of CalvaryPHX (aka Calvary Community Church) in Phoenix, Arizona, a Calvary Chapel. Pastor Mark received a B.A. in theology from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California and for six years pastored in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1982, the Adventist Church became indignant as Mark began to teach God’s grace and he was forced to resign and was ostracized from the church.
The non-denominational church that Mark started in 1982 in a northwest Phoenix school band room has since grown into a fellowship of thousands of believers. In 1984 an invitation was extended by Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, California to join the Calvary Chapel Association of churches.
Pastor Mark’s teaching is extended in an outreach to Seventh-day Adventists, as well as radio programs in the Phoenix area, and an extensive podcast, CD, and DVD ministry received by thousands each month.
Is there life after Adventism? What’s Mark Martin up to now?
